Peacefull Brook

This photo was originally taken at Rocky Mountain National Park like most of the photos for this series and the Polyscapes photos. When initially editing the photo, I wanted to keep the basic color scheme and only heighten the truly surreal feeling. With the addition of the floating orb, I wanted to make it seem like the orb was present but did not interrupt the scene. I made sure to add like shadows and highlights for the orb as that aided in it standing out versus what I wanted to achieve in the picture. I really appreciate the light shadow under the orb. I worked hard finding the right amount of fill in order to make the shadow not as prominent not only based on the lighting of the original picture but also as to not make the orb pop out to much amongst the rest of the picture.

Artist Statement:
Similar to the previous photo, this was taken at Rocky Mountain National Park. When framing and cropping the photo, I wanted to use the two trees on the side as an extra framing tool so that the viewer can focus on the water ahead as well as the mountains in the background. However, when putting this photo through photoshop and editing the glass ball, I wanted the focus to be on the ball and the rest of the photo to be treated as the background. I chose to highlight the deeper blues in the photo and boost some of the contrast to aid in the mountains popping out of the fire. The final photo I feel showcases this mysterious sphere in the center giving the viewer a different perspective on the photo than what is outside of the sphere.

This is an older photo of mine from when I went to New York for the first time. I wanted to use black and white for this photo so that the viewer could see the detail in the photo rather than having the original photo where the statue was in silhouette. When approaching the sphere within the photo, I wanted to use the sphere as a way to show the viewer more of the photo; a way to show things that the orb was covering up. In the final image, you can see how the sphere is showing the viewer what is behind it to give more background to the overall composition. In addition, I made sure the sphere was very easily seen in the scene as otherwise the reason behind having a sphere there would be ruined.
